Grease nipples on my motor?

My motor on my grinder is second hand($50)....came out of a lumber mill and sat on a shelf for a few years. Today as I was grinding I noticed a bit of a high pitched sound start up that was intermittent, but I couldn't find exactly where it was coming from. In my search I noticed two grease nipples on my motor. Front by shaft, one by rear of motor. Also on back of motor there is a "plug" I can screw out.

Googled it and found a lot of technical info, and that I need to remove the plug before putting more grease in. Should there be a plug for the front grease nipple too?

Is there a special type of grease or do I just use the same grease I use to grease the joints in my truck?

Okay, I've been reading data sheets like that already. I have NLGI 2 grade grease in my grease gun already...I think I will take a shot using that. I have no clue what is in the motor already so I am just going to take a chance on compatibility.

I think the sound I was hearing was being made by a rubber looking seal around the shaft of the motor. I am going to have to pull my wheel off to look at exactly what this rubber thing is. My guess is it is a seal that keeps crap out of the bearings.

Finally, I know where the plug is to pull when I grease the back of the motor. But I can't see any sort of relief plug at the front near the shaft side. Just a grease nipple...no plug. Does that plug serve both sides? I cant see that being the case.
