Finding myself with both a 710 and a 940 I feel that any cutting task can be met with eager enthusiasm. I can't think of a better combo (not that I have any super experience in knives) The 710 has a super tough and very strong edge good for cutting whatever would dull the smaller S30V blade of the 940, and the 940 is much more sheeple friendly. I don't see how you can go wrong with this combo. From now on I will rarely be without two knives. Thanks for listening, I think you should all go buy a 710 and a 940.

The 710 and 940?

Sounds like you have a pretty solid combo there. I typically carry a good folder for more serious cutting tasks along with a SAK when sheeple are around.

Other than my wicked fast deployment skillz the 940 isn't scarey looking by any means.

... Don't go saying crap and judging me like you know me.

I don't do drugs and never will do drugs.

Well, ignoring either the sarcasm or seriousness of posts #5 and #6, this is a great thread topic. I carry a ZDP-189 Leek for sheeplish and sharp cutting situations where my CRKT M16-13M would dull, but the latter is for my heavier chores.

Regards,
Ryan

Benchmade 530 plain edge and Spydie Delica 3 fully serrated.
In my pockets.

Shoulder bag has an Endura 4, fully serrated.

I've been carrying a combo for the past ten years. I have a few combo knives, but I've never been a big fan of them. I typically carry an Emerson for duty (CQC8, 12 or 13) and a fully serrated Spyderco Military.

Off duty, depending on the event or situation, I'll still carry a plain-edged primary folder and I almost always carry a fully serrated Spyderco Native on my weak side (pocket). Combos work for me, plus I typically have a SAK and/or Leatherman as well:D

Yeah, the combo edge never really worked for me either.

That's why, a few years ago I switched to one plain edge and one fully serrated edge.

And I've been carrying that way ever since.

No offense Rento, mearly joked around people asking for money, as most people on the street that ask for money end up doing drugs. Not actually bashing you.

2 knives? I can't seem to get by with less than 3. Delica 4 Wave, BM Mini-Grip, and either a SAK or LM Wave in a belt pouch, depending on mood. Cheap combo that cost me less than $160.

my typical carry (lately) has been a benchmade 740 dejavoo and a benchmade 310 benchmite The 740 if i need to do real stuff and the 310 because ive never had anyone get scarred about it. Its little and has the 'neat' celtic knot design on it hat people seem to love.

Just changed out the BM551s with a BM525 (strong side)---Buck custom 110 on the belt----this thread got me thinkin I should weak side my full serrated Endura to complete the package----hhhhhmmmm.

del---how about a mini review on the 740----I've lookin pretty hard at one of those lately.

tyrant----how about one on the 745 too.

I EDC my new Kershaw Leek ZDP-189/Ti, and keep my SOG Vision in my backpack along with a SwissTool Spirit for 'bigger' jobs.

I pair my EDC folder (spydie para milie, delica, mini ritter grip, or 710) with a Victorinox Compact Knife. The folder for cutting and the SAK for sheeple cutting or tools.

Caly3 and Para-Military here. The Caly3's elegant and mostly NKP-friendly, and the Para-Military is tough with extremely fast deployment.
