Hello all,

A truly great site and I'm glad I found it. I've always enjoyed a great knife. I was saddened to see Schrade close their doors as I have always enjoyed keeping a few of them around.

I am looking for someone to help me place a value on a colllectors edition of a set of Scrimshaw knives.

It is a set of 8 knives from the year 1982 entitled 'The Great American Outdoors'.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Murphy

Welcome Murphy:

If you have the original packaging, and documention, I would put a rough value of $30.00 to $40.00 per knife, based on recent auctions. Maybe a little more or less, depending on the day, and the bidders. Most of the time I see better value when they are sold as separate units.

thawk,

Thanks for the information. I had been doing a good deal of surfing the various auction sites (Evilbay) and a few others, looking to get a handle on their worth.

A great looking set of knives, but I put most of my knives to work at some point in time for their intended use.

One of my favorite daily knives is a Senior Old Timer stockman. I'm just thankful I picked up 3 new in the box before Schrade closed their doors.

Thanks again,

Murphy
