Great Customer Service from Gerber

I sent an old Gerber Multi-tool in to have the jaws aligned. After several years of use they would sometimes go cockeyed when cutting wire or plastic strapping. I sent the tool into Gerber to see if the might be able to repair it and 8 days later received a brand new multi-tool with locking tools (the old one's tools didn't lock). You can't ask for better customer service than that. It is always good to remember that you are not just buying a knife, you are choosing who is going to stand behind that knife (or NOT!)

I have also recently recieved excellent customer service from Gerber on a knife repair.

Gerber is a great company. They have great customer service, and when I asked about one of their knives, they told me what they thought about the ergonomics, action, etc.

EDIT:

I remember a thread on here a while ago (regarding BM, perhaps?)

Did you get the old tool back as well? Just curious. I'd be a little upset if I lost an old tool, even if it was replaced by a new one.

Just curious.

This is good to hear. How did you contact Gerber? I have had mixed experience over the years. I had an original Gerber Guardian that the blade tip would poke through the front of the leather sheath when inserted (10 or so years ago). I wrote Gerber a letter and within a few weeks received a new improved replacement sheath for no cost and no questions asked. Then 2 years ago emailed Gerber about a broken phillips head on a multi tool and never received any response at all. Maybe just a lack of persistance on my part. I also emailed Gerber to let them know how glad I was when they introduced the ill fated Air Frame and that I hoped they would continue trying to get back into the quality game again. Gerber is a brand that was very respected back in the 70's. I have no interest in any of their knives now.
