Great Customer Service

Having heard about the Customer Service from Spyderco, I now can speak from personal experience.

I recently bought a second hand old style Delica that I found upon arrival to be very hard to open. It appeared that someone may have tried to tighten it up by hammering on the pivot pin, but I wasn't sure. I included this info in a letter and sent the knife in for service. I asked them to look it over and advise me of any repair costs. I was pleasantly surprised when my knife came back today, along with a personalized letter signed by Keith Monge. They not only repaired the problem, but gave it a great sharpening. All this for No Charge. Besides that, from the time I mailed it out until it's return was only 3 weeks.

I feel that outstanding service such as this is to be commended. It is just one more reason for me to continue to recommend Spyderco knives.

Thanks Sal.

Thanks Keith.

JayHawk: It's nice to hear that things worked out so well - I'm not too surprised, because of their sterling reputation. I always cringe when I read folks here on the forums recommending that someone try a home fix when they have a problem with their knife (such as the previous owner who tried to tighten up the Delica by hammering on the pivot pin). When a company like Spyderco is so serious about standing behind their product, it's foolish IMHO to monkey around. Gotta problem? Send it back to the experts, send it to Golden, Colo.!

I have to agree that the Customer Service from Spyderco is the best. I broke the clip on my Wayne Goddard LTWT during an entry on a narcotics raid. I called Spyderco and explained the situation to them and they had a new clipped sent to me the next day!!
Now that is service.
By the way Jayhawk that is a great username. Are you a former Kansan? Or did you attend KU?
