Well Kansas rifle season has arrived. Thursday evening my nine year old and I sat in a ground blind and got busted by a 10 point buck. He winded us made a couple jumps into a creek bottom and I new where he was but no way to get a shot at him he then started slowly working himself away from us I was catching glimpses of him thru the hardwoods. He finally came to a area where I had a shooting lane cut threw the timber 100-130yds from our blind. I knew my nine year old couldn't make that shot so when he got to the opening I shot him. He made a few hops and died. Now for the interesting part I had my 13year old son field dress him with a Buck Ergohunter Pro it did a splendid job as did my son. We then switched to the Buck Open Season Pro Boning knife to skin, quarter and debone him. That knife is a pure pleasure to use for that task. Now Friday evening rolls around and I've got the nine year old and the five year old boys and moms not home yet so we all headed to the timber. Within just a few minutes of getting on stand two smallish bucks came into us. My nine year old made a beautiful shot on a four point at about 50yds that died after only a jump or two his first deer(proud daddy moment) On this deer I field dressed him with my nine year olds full sized Buck Alpha Hunter. I then switched to the same Open Season boning knife as the night before to skin, quarter and debone him. Never touched the edge on the boning knife have no doubt I could probably do a third deer before that knife would require sharpening very impressed with it and Buck's S30v.
