While recuperating, I came across a ton of knife newspapers and magazines my father grabbed for me. Thanks dad, but your son is getting the knife bug while trying to stave off cabin fever. I love a good looking fixed blade, and saw the Great Eastern canoe pattern hunter. No idea if these are 440C or 1095, I believe others have said they are 1095 even though they are Great Eastern marked. Help a recuperating fat knife nut, let's see some pics of your canoe pattern hunters. I am itching literally to go fishing, hiking you name it. It's an adventure to walk down the driveway with this stationary boot on using a walker.

I'm not sure if this one considered a canoe pattern or not, but it is from the same series of knives.

This one is in elk stag, and yes, they all have 1095 steel.

Here's a H23210BS Skinner and H73211BS Canoe. Both of these are 1095. You have to check the blade for Cyclops Steel Works if you want 440c. If it has Tidioute Iron Works then its 1095. To make things more complicated, GEC released a H73312 with Pioneer Bone and American Elk in 440c. They also released more H73412 Upland Hunters like Jeff's but in 440c too. These are also Pioneer Bone and AE. Unfortunately, it doesn't look like they made the normal release pics that GEC does.

I have The canoe skinner clip point in bone, really took a patina after using, 1095. Solid knife, the only complaint is the snap on the back of sheath unbuttons sometime while wearing.
