Great Eastern Cutlery - Tidioute Weaver Jack

OK Stefan! I am going to stop watching your wonderful reviews, because every time I watch, my wallet gets slimmer and slimmer. I already have added 3 Chambriard knives to my collection and here I go again with a Tidioute Weaver Jack. Please stop with the excellent reviews!!!

Warm regards :D

Well done, Stefan. I liked your concluding remarks about passing down some history, which your review captured so well.

Thank you, Stefan. Delightful as always.

thanks Stefan.
I second your recommendation of The dealer you mention.
cheers.

That is a fine blade. Great review. I love my GEC Dogleg Jack in Snakewood.

Another fine review and, I agree with you about the fit&finish on GEC knives they are outstanding. True also about the interesting historical background and heritage - it gives them real authenticity, but they certainly are a user's knife too.

You ask about the term Weaver Jack. I'm sure it has a connexion to the old CASE (and other brands) Loomfixer which was a 2 blade Barehead Jack used in the textile industry. The 56 Weaver Jack also comes in a single blade version and a Northfield variant with 2 blades. The 3 blade version is something of a bizarrity but very interesting nevertheless.

Regards, Will
