I got my Great Eastern back today, they replaced it with a new one and this one is great!

The white bone scales are perfect and the blades are nice and sharp.

Glad to hear this! My Great Eastern Sheffield Tobacco is a MASTER knife.

Interested in those primitive bone scales, looking for the single blade Beaver Tail with those scales but not sure if they are available any more.
 
Hey TLC, I'm very glad to hear the news...I've been waiting to hear your results...I think you are one of the last folks to get their returned knife/knives back from GEC, and I have yet to hear even the slightest thing negative from anyone.

Good for you, good for GEC.

I am now officially sold on GEC. Gotta get me one. Maybe one of those new patterns I've been hearing about.
 
It was kinda funny today, I called today to check on it, the lady was busy and took my number to call me back. She called back about 15 minutes later and said they had sent a replacement by FedEx on June 1st.

I literally had not hung up with her and five minutes later I heard a knock on my front door and there was the FedEx guy.

Talk about timing!
 
Willgoy, The primitive bone was only available on the Tidioute, the Beaver Tail is regular bone, should be plenty available.

Thanks Eric. Still want to get that Beaver Tail though as it seems to be the only single blade knife they make.

Where's their website?
 
i can only wonder why they pick and choose whose knife to fix?

They did a fine job on this one, hopefully their early problems are getting resolved and they are headed in the right direction! :thumbup:
 
I had two Great Easterns with small problems. Bolsters on two had some scratches and blade emblem looked half done. Sent if off two weeks ago and they arrived back today. Problems fixed and fairly speed turn around. I also managed to get the tube/box on both wet and they replaced those as well. Thanks Great Eastern!
