QS, I couldn't get it to work with the simplest of terms that any other engine would give me a ton of hits on.
After I saw the second one, I just figured I'd been had.

Guess I'm just not that computer literate.

That's strange. I ran a few test searches (like "forensics") and it worked well.

It sucks in that you cannot search by more than one term.
You cannot add terms to limit the results, so you have to look through too many links to find what you really want.

As I said, it's a beta version right now, check back in a few months and it might be a resource rivaling Wikipedia in its usefulness. I think it's a great concept.

Wikipedia is more than just an encyclopedia. Actually, you have to be careful using it, because some articles are contentious enough that they've been taken over by groups with a limited viewpoint. But they handle technical questions pretty well.

Besides, the rest of the Wiki circle is interesting:

We recently had that thread on the chimpanzee attack, so I used FactBites on "chimpanzee" and found a lot of interesting links. I tried it on "hobbit" also, but it didn't get me the Homo floresiensis connection. It's new, use it for what it does, and wait for improvements.

Wikipedia is not a search engine. Ed described it pretty well. If you want a dedicated search engine, you still have to go with ixquick and Google.
