So I was browsing knifeworks.com and thought, "Hey let's see what the have in the SOG fixed blade department just for the hell of it". I don't see anything new and then I scroll down to the very last knife on the list. Sure enough it is a SOG recon bowie with Japanese SK-5 steel that has not been produced since 08. I thought surely there must be a mistake and they've failed to remove it from the site because its listed for $187. My thought was if this is not a fluke *MUST HAVE* and I proceeded to order. Sure enough it was in stock and is on its way as I type. I ordered on Friday the 6/10 and they are still in stock as of today 6/13. If I were you I snatch one up quick because they ain't gonna last long. (p.s. I do not work for knifeworks.com but I will say it is by far my favorite knife site and anything that doesn't say it is out of stock has always been in stock.) Good luck and you're welcome!;)

Great find!

I'm not sure if this is new old-stock or what but I ordered one on the off chance it's for real. Knifeworks has been good to me and if it's a mistake they'll make it up. If not, then well this is a GREAT find.

I'll keep you posted.

Hey like I said, mine has already shipped and will be here on Thursday. I don't understand it either. Maybe they found an old box of em' somewhere. I'm excited though.

Dude, that knife is no longer listed on the site, so if your order goes through I believe we snagged the only two they had. That is pretty cool.

Knifeworks just called me. They went through their warehouse and found 1 old Seki Recon Bowie and you got it bro...

I'm screwed, I ordered just before theyvtook down the listing..

Sigh. I'm disappointed but happy for you.

Have fun with it. :(

:thumbup:Good catch there.
Amazing the things you can find. Shows what paying attention will do for you.

Dang, sorry you missed out.
I was wondering how many they could have had.

Holy Crap! It's like winning a contest. I would chalk it up to working third shift and being awake and browsing knife websites while everyone else is asleep.

Carl, I notice from some of your other posts that you have put yours to use in the field. How has it held up performance wise do you ever worry about damaging it?

I got the knife last thursday and you could tell by the wear of the box that it had been sitting in a warehouse for a few years. I love the knife though. I can't seem to put it down or stop staring at it. I'm definitely gonna hang on to this one. Only thing is I'm hesitant to take it out and use it, since they're so hard to come by. But thenagain, that's what they were made for. I still might opt for my falkniven oden for feild use because of the stainless not to mention indestructible vg 10 laminated steel.
I think I might get a recon bowie 2.0 when they make their way to the online stores because I'd still get the blade shape, only I wouldn't mind beating on it. Ah we'll see. we'll see.
