I have found a teriffic stainless steel mug/cooking pot that "nests" with a standard Nalgene bottle, so it takes no additional room. Its called the Alpine Mug, by Nesters Cookware. It set me back a whopping $5.95. I'd insert a picture, but I'm not sure how (or if I'm allowed).

Here is a link to the MFR, with a pic: http://www.nesterscookware.com/pages/topquality.html

and here is a dealer that sells them: http://www.wyomingoutdoor.com/comme..._id=13-J519

I can't help it. I'm a sucker for outdoor products that have multiple uses, or have a very small footprint for their usefulness.

Yup, I have one, had it for years. It's in the same Idea of the GI canteen cup that fits below the plastic canteens.

I picked one of these up in December for a winter trip and it worked great. If you live in Calif. you can get them at Sport Chalet for $6.99.

Got one too. Now if you really want to rock and roll, get the hydration system hookup for the bottle. Beats those flimsy bladders any day. You get a lid with a vent in it and a straw going up through the middle. And you have to buy the hose with the connecter and valve. Replace the pinch valve with a bite valve and you are set. In camp, you can drink right out of the bottle with the straw. And I hook mine on the outside of my backpack in a pouch, which I can then easily detach from my main pack and wear it on my belt for dayhikes. Try that with a bladder.;)
