Got my matching #058 AR this week. A great folder gets even better.
There have been subtle changes to the 'newer' folders....the dentent in the liner lock has been already mentioned in a previous thread.
The G10 slabs are a fraction thinner....not rounded-off like my GB.
The change in the detent in the liner....makes it easier to release the liner when locked against the tang.
My AR is way sharper than my GB....which is already sharp. Finish on the Tiger Stripes looks more polished!?

My GB is been relegated to the drawer cos I'm now using my AR

Great work Strider Guys :D (Playing devil's advocate....whats the possibility of retrofitting the GB into the newer specs?cost?...I find the liner still pretty difficult to release on my GB....the AR is a great improvement)

Nice pics. I recently traded for an AR #019 and it must have been between your knives as it has the old style scales and the new liner lock. The AR is the best all around utility folder I have used (and I've used alot) Iam looking forward to the GB as the best "tactical."

I have GB #15 with old style liner lock. does anyone know how many GB's and AR's were made with the old style lock? - Dick
 
Ok, after beating my head trying to find the differences, now I see :)

I've got AR #41, and have the lock style from your GB picture, and the G-10 slab style from your AR picture.
 
I have medium-sized hands. Both folders fit very comfortably. Although if I had to discern any difference I would say the AR feels a fraction 'smaller' in my hand and the GB slightly 'fuller'.....due to the 'slight' change in the G10 handles
edit(To bring an 'Emerson' reference...the '98 Commander and the current production line of G10s...the changes are slight but noticeable)

Man those are some bad a** knives. I have been looking at Striders for a while now, and even though I don't own one (YEETTTTT), they are my favorite. I am now starting the slow process of saving money to buy a GB (my dream knife), so I can carry it on duty. On my salary, I'm guessing at least a year before I can get one in hand. But oh what a day to look forward to!!!! From looking at you photo's (very nice) I would say you have the best of both folders.:)
