Just recently I obtained a pair of Hatch Shorty Operator gloves, and I must say, they are perfect for what I was looking for.
What I wanted was a pair of gloves to wear day to day that would give me a better grip on my steering wheel while driving, as well as offer some protection from the cold wheel. I also wanted some protection from cold wind on my hands, but warmth wasn't a primary concern. My primary concern was that the gloves be comforatble, enhance grip, be skin tight and also allow for full dexterity and only slightly deminished feel.
I didn't like the traditional "driving" gloves for many reasons, not the least of which being the fact that most are made crappy, and I hate the knuckle cutouts and vents on them (I wanted some barrier to the cold wind).
Well I looked around and found the shory Operator gloves at 1sks, and they are seriously perfect. The fact that they offer some cut and flash protection only sweetened the deal. I can wear them and still get things out of my pockets, I can get my wallet out I can put air in my tires and screw the little cap back on the valve while still wearing the gloves, my grip is improved, they are great. Plus, the short cuff doesn't interfere with any of my coats.
Obviously these arent for warmth, but I have mittens to keep my cands warm. These gloves are a perfect "commuter" glove for a commuter like myself, and I reccomend them.
Pascal.
