Ok Folks here's one for ya.
The Story as I was told:
I was given this knife sometime in the 80's.
My Mother's Grand Father my Great Grand Father "supposedly" made this knife and I always went on the assumption that was how it was?
I knew him when I was younger and remember him being very quiet.
He was in the Rodeo circuit as a Horse Rider when He was younger and in his later years when I knew him He had a small Farm and was always in his "shed" making and fixing stuff.
So the idea that He actually made this knife never really was questioned by me?
I've done research in the past on the marking on the blade "BLUMOL Made in U.S.A." and never found anything?
So the question begs. Was this maybe actually made by my Great Grand Pa or just a case of him fashioning a handle to an existing, maybe broke, blade and then after all the years became the story of him making the Knife?
Don't try to save my feelings or my Family pride. I can take it if it's not true (i think)!
FYI:
I re-wrapped the handle years ago in sinew for better grip so that was not original when I got it.
Everything else including obvious grinder marks and sheath came to me as is.
