Me and my family traveled to Florida this weekend to see my grandparents and had a wonderful time. While down there, I was talking to Papa about how I have one of my Great grandpa's case stockmans but I don't like to carry it much because it's the only thing I have that belongs to him. Well, he tells me he has a couple more of great grandpa's knives in a drawer.
So we go digging and find two more case stockmans that belonged to him. The smaller one is a 1972 model and the larger is a 1971 medium model I believe. The medium was carried a bunch and sharpened pretty hard. The jigged bone is worn to a nice semi smooth feel. The smaller one I believe was hardly ever carried. I don't even think it was ever sharpened. I've cleaned them both up and sharpened them. I'm going to carry the smaller stockman to replace my medium stockman that I bought last year. So not only did I have a great time with my family this weekend, but I acquired a few nice knives that I will be able to use with pride and hopefully pass on to my son one day.

Sorry for the bad pics. Here is the medium stockman

And here is a group shot. The other knife is a Frontier that I found in Papa's tackle box. He gave that one to me as well

That's awesome man. I'm lucky enough to have several of my grandfathers knives too. Very special feeling to have those treasures.

One of these days I'll post some pics.

The sentimental value of a relative's knife will always outshine any knife in your collection.

Great family heirlooms . I bet that larger Stockman can tell a lot of great stories . Congrats on the pick ups . BTW how is the snap on those old knives .

Very nice, I have my Grandfather's Case Barlow, but the blades are trashed, im going to send it to Case and have it cleaned and blades replaced.

The traditionals that were passed down from your forefathers are the prizes that nobody else can get or appreciate.

Enjoy, and thanks for taking pictures and sharing your family treasures.

best

Nice knnives, the sentimental value is huge on those sorts of things. I have my grandfather's favourite knife.

The medium stockman main blade is pretty weak but not too bad. There was some blade play but I peened the pin a little and fixed that right up. The smaller stockman is a nail breaker. It's still as stormy as a brand new knife. :)

I appreciate all the responses. It's really special having these knives. I never met my great grand father so it's nice to have something that belonged to him. And it's cool knowing he had good tastes as well
