Excellent! You're a good great grandson. Sadly it looks like that handle is beyond salvage.

You sure did a great job on your great Grandpa's axe. I like it when a family axe is restored, part of your family heritage. You can pass it down to your family.

I see so many young people selling the "old" stuff they have from their families for a few bucks, pennys on the dollar, at garage sales. Sad for them, great finds for me.
 
Thank you gentlemen. This was my first axe refurbishment and I am pleased with the results. It splits wood like an axe should and looks good doing it. I do however have a small problem.. I want to do another one!
