hey guys! the wife and i went to a G&K show last weekend, and look what i found at the first table we looked at:)
he also had the little hand hatchet in just as good of shape (if not better), but i could only afford one. so, since i already have the 'little guy' i had to stick with this one.
needless to say i am/was pretty excited to find one of these in such good shape. i believe i'll make a sheath for it and just hang 'her' in the cabin.
what do you guys think the value of one in this shape is? i believe that i paid a resonable price for it, but wanted to know what you fellows thought.
i'll wait to tell what i paid for it so as not to create a bias...
btw; he said that he had picked them up the week before from a guy down in wisdom, MT
anyway, thanks for looking

Hey Bearman, very nice find, congrats. If it wasn't for the beautiful label you could use it ;-))

Sweet piece.

If he is looking to use a norlund, I have one exactly like this I would gladly trade. No problems.

You could have called one of us and we would have driven right there for the small one. ;)

I'm not sure about the value, but I get the feeling that when we hear the price you paid we are going to cry. :D

Nice axe! I've seen alot of Norlunds on e bay. 2-3 a day. I would say there is a good demand for them. BUT I've not seen one with a sticker. Also, most are the smaller hatchets. Would be curious if anyone knows how the sticker would affect the price of the axe.

About as simple as I know how to put it, the sticker or original label would jack up the price.

I think you could compare the value added to an antique toy that has it's original box. A Black Raven double bit sold on the bay last week for over 300 bucks because of the makers stamp, every stamped axe retains it's stamp forever, a label is very unlikely. In my antique dealer past I sold early toys with boxes for double the value of the toy.
