EMS for the 181/4'' 19 ounce villager fit and finish Hunting Spear Vala by Purna.

Got the Done Deal. I plan to mount this on a heavy duty 4 foot long wood handle that was made for some kind of gardening tool, maybe a shovel. It'll be a short stabbing spear, just for fun since I have nothing that needs stabbing.

I have a similar-shaped machined steel spear head made in China, four inches shorter and the same weight as this one. It'll be interesting to compare them.

I got the Chinese spear head a couple of years ago and have been planning to mount it on the 4 foot handle, with copper pipe bracing, but haven't gotten around to it.

I read an interesting report about some of these small Chinese-made steel items. It seems that many of the industrial machine shops have "down time" when the workers and local managers don't have any big orders, so they use their heavy duty machinery to produce things like knives and consumer tools as a kind of sideline. Possibly "off the books" or to supplement their very low (or nonexistent) wages.

I think that one may be the best looking so far. I dunno what I would hunt with that. Maybe yeti? That Purna looks straight up like a do it all hiking knife. Such a well thought out design. The Chuppi dagger is like a Fairbairn Sykes via the Himalayas. Back alley fight-ender for sure;)

Grats David! I got my piece of 1 1/2"x 1 1/2" x 24" African Mahogony to mount one of mine on but still figuring out how I want to do it. Im thinking round at the point but oval at the end to kind of index it a bit. The other one I want to put a much longer handle on it to play around with throwing. That one may be round since indexing dont really matter.
