great karda & hanshee grip

My research trip was beyond succesful and have confirmed many things while uncovering new facts.

One of the most interesting (and will be controversal) is seeing a painting done in 1816 showing General Bhimsen Thapa's Gorkha forces to the British at Sanguli with all the muskets fitted with an obvious kukri shaped bayonet.

Bruise, I did a painting like that once. Spilled a whole bottle of "white-out" and thats what it looked like. I think the polar bears made a great snowman.
 
I have a poor b&w copy of the painting and will see if I can post it. The original shows the bayonets clearly.

Wonder if that was artistic license?
A way of saying "these are gurkhas"--fer sure.
