Two months ago a friend of mine called me from Munich saying with excitation that he found a new S30V leaf blade Lil' Temperance. I could hear him at phone discussing with the owner of the shop (Feuerzeugzentrale), I heard a lady shouting: 'Dass Messer ist so stark, so scharf...' (knife is so strong, so sharp...).
I said yes.
I got the Lil'T two days later.
I was very impressed.
I was excited.
I could not believe.
I recognize immediately.
Lil' T was a perfection.
It was created keeping in mind the final purpose.
Causa finalis, - a final purpose - determined everything.
Let me try to convince you that I don't exaggerate:
1. I am not young, unexperienced.
2. I am a scientist doing research and teaching at university - I understand something about the subject.
3. I am not a guy who gets easily impressed - things like changing a black FRN handle to a blue one, or using G-10 instead of micarta - do not impress me.
4. What impresses me are
High tech steels S30V, BG-42, VG-10, ...
And functionality.
And reliability.
And sturdiness.
And, the most important, that I can believe to Sal.
There is no point to elaborate why the Lil'T is so excellent - a number of beautiful reviews are written at the Forums. A few points I found especially important are in order
- a very strong 4 mm flat grind S30V blade
- very strong compression lock (MBC rated)
- an inocent look - compared with other MBC tools
- smallness/power - a small 3" blade but very powerfull
- perfect ergonomics
In conclusion: the future Lil'T versions should have just one determining factor - causa finalis - to make the best, toughest, most reliable, most ergonomic 3" folder available(Sal).
Thanks, Sal.
