I just finished creating this page for Tim Hancock's book and thought
it fitting to be displayed here...

San Francisco style dagger and sheath by Tim Hancock, engraving and
gold inlay on the sheath by Bryan Bridges.

All the best,

Holy smokes... that had to be so fun seeing all of those knives in person. I love the detail in the engraving, I love the clean lines in the dagger, and I like the whole package.

THANK YOU for posting this David!

I had quite a discussion a few years ago with Tim about this AMAZING knife and sheath, and he told me it took him several weeks to get set up to make this piece. So that meant there was a lot of tinkering and figuring required in order for Tim to get this piece done and be able to do one again.

Tim is a very linear thinker with a lot of grit and consistant, focused work practices... so tinkering is not something he welcomes in his shop... but sometimes things like that can be charged as a "necessary evil" in order to end up with a magnificent piece such as this one.

I am elated that you are doing a book on the MAN and his WORK.

Thank you so much David! :D

ps- I see in the Josh Smith hammer-in photos he brought back the Hancock stache ;) :)

One of the things I most appreciate about the knife craft is that the guys that stand out continue to push the envelope......this is a perfect example, and it certainly adds to it with Nicks comments!!!!:p

While visiting Tim Hancock in May and doing the photography for
his book, Brian came over to visit. He is teaching Tim the basics of
engraving. So I took a picture of him (for the book of course!).

All the best,
