Great knives... (that double as art)...

I'm guessing this might be an unpopular topic on these boards but thought I'd brave the feedback anyways... I'm a homeowner/chef and stumbled across these boards looking for feedback on some (attractive/work of art) knives I found like the Shun Dual Core or Shun Blue series. I get that "company knives" are mass produced, inflated in price due to marketing, etc and that there are many better functional knives out there. That being said... from an aesthetic standpoint, knives to me can also be grand decor (especially when all lined up on a magnet strip in a kitchen). The company knives also seem to give one the ability to buy all the various knives they need in the same series (i.e. uniform look). All this being said... does anyone have any thoughts about a knife brand/series they feel really strikes a good balance of both form and function? I realize that form is subjective but maybe the Shun series mentioned earlier can serve as some point of reference.

Friedr. Dick's 1905 with their stacked handle, their World's Fair series, lots of cool shapes in the 1905 series, it looks absolutely beautiful in Dick's acrylic upright knife stand.

For home use , The Messermeister Meridian Elite series is very good. They come very
sharp right out of the box & dont have a thick bolster/finger guard at the heel end.
So you can sharpen the full length. To be honest , I'm not a real fan of their paring
knives. The handles are so pencil thin I can't get a comfortable grip. I do like the Chef's knives
the little stubby one is great for breaking down whole chickens.

I'm not into the matchy-matchy look, but if you want that, in my opinion Japanese companies have some great looking options. I'm a fan of the visual impact of damascus, so my picks would be stuff like below. These are beautiful and high performance tools as well.

Kramer by Zwilling Euroline (Zwilling is German but the Kramer designed knives are made in Japan):

Kramer by Zwilling Meiji if you like a simpler Japanese style handle more:

Out of curiosity what did you end up going with?

I plan on getting knives in the near future and love the art aspect of them. I am leaning towards Hammered Damascus.

Have you considered popping over to the makers forum and having something done custom? Most makers including myself offer an unconditional gaurentee and you can get the exact shape, size, geometry, bte thickness, distal taper, steel, hardness and handle material you want that's like no other knife. Btw this isn't a sales pitch because of covid I'm currently not doing customs because I can't get across the boarder to get my supplies. There are great guys there who just do amazing work. Here's some examples of my work.
