While web surffing this morning I found a very nice khuk on the evil that is EBay. A ww2 with all the stamps on it. Truly a tempting offer... This goes into the whole thing of collector or user HMMM? Has anyone seen this one?

Matt,

I saw the khukuri you described on ebay. To me it looks like one of the tourist khukuries that come out of India and Nepal sometimes. I could be wrong though so I will leave it to the experts on here to comment. They can tell you definitively as to whether that particular khukuri is authentic or a tourist type khukuri.

Matt,
If you plan to actually use a Khuk, I wouldn't waste your time or money at Ebay. Uncle will take care of you here. If you ever have any problems with a Khuk from HI, there is no problem. The way that these Khuks are made, and the way that Uncle Bill stands behind them is second to none. No games, no gimmicks, just excellent knives at a price that they're worth. You might find cheaper Khuks out there, but then again, that's what you'll get, a cheaper Khuk. HIs are 'The Real Deal', 'nuff said!

We're talking knives made by the royal kami and an absolutely 100 per cent stand-up guarantee.

You can not go wrong here.

(IMHO, anyway)

If you are collecting khukuris, ebay can be a very good source BUT you have to know what you're looking at.
If you are looking for a knife to use, Bill Martino is selling the best khukuris I have ever handled.

Well I have no doubt in my mind that HI kukhris are the best bar none. I spent quite some time researching all the info that Bill has up on the site along with anything else that I can find. I just wanted opinions on a piece that bears at least looking at for a collection piece. ( I should have said right from the start that it was not going to be a user) What can I say? I am fascinated by shiny objects.

Matt, there were actually 2 pretty nice collectible shiny objects on ebay today and they both went for good, fair prices.
The M 43 went for $200 but it was only scabbard marked. It is more desireable to have the knife marked on the blade or handle and correct marks on the scabbard too. It was also missing a karda & chakma but some of these models didn't have them.
The other khukuri was also B.P.I.P (British Pattern Indian Produced) and was marked "Allied" and is an authentic late WW II piece. It went for around $170.
Nice khukuris but like I said you have to know what you're looking at.

Thank you to every one who has posted. A really big thank you to you Mr. Powell. You described the ones that I was looking at. I am thankful that a company like this still does exist. The gathering of knowledge is also a great resource. Thank you all again
