Great little Flipper !

I recently purchased a crkt hi jinx z for $27. The list price was $79 originally. I love the knife. and think its a great little flipper. I know they don't make them anymore, but why the low price for a knife I love. Was there a problem with the knife ?
 
When the big box stores decide that something has to go they sometimes blow their brains out on the price. I have bought flashlights, knives, and tools at Lowe's and Walmart at crazy prices.
 
I got it for $27 and change at Knifeworks two weeks ago and that's still the price. I might get one for a young friend of mine. They are $ 46.99 at Amazon. I really like Lionsteel and the collaborated with crkt on the design. There is a titanium version for over $400, you can't find them. Anyway its a great knife for under $30 !
 
They probably just want to get rid of the model to make room for newer stuff. Selling at cost is my guess lol... Stores can't stay in business if they can't move product. It's a win for you finding it cheap! They just want to cover their cost.
 
It was almost 5oz... pretty heavy for a smallish knife. It also uses 1.4166 steel. Is that the German stainless surgical steel?
