When I was searching knives online, I found the Manix 2 Lightweight (Blue), which was pretty close to perfect for me. My only hesitation was the pinned construction. So, I started a thread on the forum asking if this should be a deal breaker or not. I finally decided that the knife was too compelling not to order, so I decided to trust the pins and the warranty and go for it.

The knife arrived last night, and to my surprise and delight, it now has a completely adjustable torx screw pivot. The rest of the handle is still pinned, but the pivot was the most important part to me. I just wanted to let you guys know, in case anyone else is still on the fence about the Manix 2 Lightweight...the newer models are moving to a screw pivot. NICE!

Happy Holidays!

Wish I would have known that, as I ordered one a couple of days ago. Maybe I'll get the new flavor. I'm cool with pinned though.

Just out of curiosity, where did you order it from? I was especially surprised to find the screw on mine, because I purchased it from Amazon. I would expect these type of updates to start with direct factory orders, then trickle down to knife distributors and finally to Amazon...needless to say, I feel like I really lucked out:)

Thats good to know, thanks for sharing. Its probably safe to assume that the black version coming out is gonna have at least the pivot in torx. Either way, cleaning it the way I suggested in your previous thread should remove all concerns of getting it dirty. Enjoy!

I ordered it from a large, online auction site. The vendor's picture shows the now-extinct and highly spendy blue G10 Manix. I can only wish that they would send me that by mistake.

I'm in for a black manic light weight. Only way I can get a full flat grind manix for a reasonable price.

Cool news. Is the ball lock as stiff on the light weight as it is on the regular Manix 2? When is the black light weight going to be readily available? Blade HQ doesn't have them and I have a credit there. Thanks

If you read down further in the link it says that it is screw together now, which could be true as where the clip would go is a smooth headed "pin". Maybe they finally fixed my beefs with this knife!
