I just wanted to pass along some good info on a product I use for my Spyders and Pro-Techs... works really well- make your own case...
Dupont- Teflon Multi-Use Lubricant - sets up dry with a slight film. No oily greasy mess like other brands. 4oz btl Lowes or home Depot- $5.00
Works great..and only takes alittle.

works for corrosion prevention too?

It's been awile since I had some , but I think it does. I always thought I would try some on a knife. It does start out in a liquid form and penatrates into small, tight areas and then dries to a film. Should work well.

The lubrications and cleaners I am currently having the best luck with are Militec, Ballistol and Tuf-Glide.

They all have their own purposes and their own unique properties.

AS far as corrosion protection goes the company that makes Tuf-Glide ( Sentry Solutions) also makes a product called Tuf-Cloth which works well in that area.

Militec is a fantastic lubrication and lasts far longer per application than any petroleum based lube would.

It is going to be extremely interesting to see what lubrications and other products come forth from "nanotechnology". Great thread

yup, dry teflon works like a charm. graphite is great too.

wd40 works well too, but it smells bad, and KEEPS smelling; plus the can's nozzle is way too tight, so one wrong push on the spraycan and the whole knife is WD40'd

best stuff i ever used, and still use every now and then if needed, is rifle-oil. one small droplet and you're good to go

Forgive my stupidity but can we find a food-grade lubrications? The one that can protect the knives from rusting but could freely contact with food material. Cheers!
