I wanted to see what you guys consider a great pair. Mix of JKs and other brand or just JKs. Here are two of my favorites.

Pair #1:

JK Camp knife - Absolutely bulletproof, can take and has taken beatings like no other knife can. If I need a knife for something that I'd consider abusive, I look to this knife.

Small Plain Sebenza - Great slicey little knife. What more can I say about these that haven't been said? If you have never used one, I would suggest saving until you can get one, worth every penny, IMO.

Pair #2

6" JK knife with oak handles(I think?), not sure what it's called really. Super sharp and a damn fine all around knife. Bushcraft, camp chores, critter cleaning it does it all.

JK EDC - Treat this one about like I do the camp knife, just a smaller version. Very sharp, tough as nails. And Mykel M made me a great kydex sheath for it.

Both look like great pairs!

When I started getting more seriously into knives, I was appalled at the thought of spending $200-400 (or more) on any knife. That just didn't seem like a good use of my money. Well, as the saying goes, you get what you pay for. With the exception of some knives (like JK Knives, which I think are an outstanding knife for the money), you do have to pay for quality. I haven't been able to justify $450 for one knife, for example, but I'd spend $150 each for three knives without much thought.

I've always been curious about the Sebenza, but can't get over the price point. I just can't imagine many scenarios where I would need more folder than my mini grip.

It's good to see your JK's getting some "love", thanks for sharing them.

About a decade or bit longer I remember ribbing my bro for buying a 160 dollar automatic. Mel Pardue Benchmade I think. Now look at me. lol

Great looking knives, especially these two.

Very nice pair fellas. Some great looking tools here.

KYenglish,

I love the handles and pins on that tin knife. Every time I see it, it reminds me of a buckeye or couple of buckeyes.

Here's a good pair. GB Mini and JK Kephart.

Excellent combo, Grizzle. I was just coming back to this thread to post a hatchet.

Wetterlings - don't know the model, just a small hatchet.

JK fire kit knife - Handy lil thing, made to match my first ever custom knife I also bought from John.

ETA: I never had a "hand made" much less custom knife and stumbled into John's forum here, I never imagined custom knives could be had for such good prices. I couldn't pass up the chance for a little knife and firesteel combo stored in a leather sheath for the princely sum of 45 bucks or so. Placed the order for it and then the guys here helped me design my own custom knife. Good times.

I don't have a picture of them together but my JK Otter Creek and an original Leathrman make a great pair.
