I just have to brag a bit about those great BG-42 blades Buck Knives did install in my old 110 and new 560 - these are as sharp as a blade can be out-of-the-box.

After innocently posting initially that I haven´t been hit by the knivenut-virus (yet?) it seems this forum is spreading this fever even over the internet - at least I got hit pretty immediately.

So to go with that 110 I just had to have one of those 560 knives nicknamed the Buckbenza - and both went to Joe House at Buck Knives to get those famous BG-42 blades installed - together with my Bucktool for some servicing.

They returned yesterday and the cuts in my fingers are getting more and more as these blades are so sharp I still can´t believe it.

To contrast that I also got two other knives from well respected american and german companies since finding this forum in 154CM and ATS-34 respectiveley - both weren´t as sharp by far and both had problems out-of-the-box - one with rust on the blades letters the other with an uneven and wobbling blade, scratching the sides and some more issues.

Now compare the Buck service where the knives got replacement blades and service - got shipped across the ocean and came in this week just great - against the other knive which I sent back to the german manufacturer around the same time and which still hasn´t made it back to me - calling in I was told that I should get it no later than end of next week (and if you haven´t noted I´m in germany too).

I liked my 110 already very much befor all this - with the new BG-42 blade now even more - and having the pleasure to experience this extraordinary service from Joe Houser / Buck Knives and the difference in customer service / out-of-the-box quality and sharpness I have to admit that I think more Buck Knives will follow these.

All thumbs up for such a company and especially Joe Houser

Proud Buck Knive Owner
