Chad Ward, the author of the tutorial mentioned, is currently in the process of putting together a book that will (amongst other things) cover the subject of sharpening kitchen knives. If the quality of his tutorial is any indication of what this book has to offer I'm sure it will be highly sought after.

I saw this faq quite a while ago actually. It is excellent. My sharpening abilities improved several fold just by reading it.


Although buying a Sharpmaker didn't hurt either.
