Great sheath

Hi guys

Let me tell y'all about a great sheath I got from a great guy!

The sheath is from Gary of Brommeland Gun leather. This is if not the best sheath i have ever seen then it is in the top three or four, Keep in mind that i have around two hundred knives about 80% of which are fixed blade knives so I've seen my fare share!

This sheath is made from i think 8 or 10oz leather and the stitching is flawless and reinforced with rivets and screws.
It also has perfectly molded kydex inserts at the mouth of the sheath and at the blade point end so there is no way to cut the inside of the sheath, the retention strap is a little deferent from what you're-use to seeing it's a piece of para cord 4" or 5" inches long with a small piece of leather and a button snap on it, like i said it's a little deferent but i think it gives more retention options if you needed it, which you probably want because this sheath is so perfectly fit to the knife that there is no movement what so ever!

One last thing and i'll post some pictures, the belt loop is one of my favorite features of the sheath instead just looping the leather over and sewing it to the back of the sheath Gary molded it for the belt size so it want slide or move up and down on your belt,OK enough now for the pictures

Great sheath are FANTASTIC and hard to come by.
I have a sheath that came with an AT Barr knife that had a button strap to secure the handle. On the side facing the knife, the metal of the button was covered to protect the handle. That's a good design also.

That IS a nice sheath. How much did it cost and does he make them to order for anyone?

Hey Lune2ne!
I'm happy to hear that you like my sheath work. For those that are interested, here is some additional information on this particular piece, most of which applies to all of my sheaths:

1. The 550-cord wrap was chosen to secure the knife by way of the sub-hilt because there is no guard for a more traditional strap to engage. This system, when properly executed, will keep the knife in the sheath during virtually any physical activity, up to and including Airborne operations. It also can be moved out of the way so you don't slice the retainer when drawing the knife.

2. The welting is 3/8" in width, and fits VERY snugly - the knife is of a recurve blade design. If it were fitted any tighter, the knife would have to cut it's way out of the sheath.

3. The sheath is fully welted, as are all my sheaths. The stitching is done with #346 bonded polyester thread (way heavier that what is commonly used and polyester was chosen for it's resistance to rot and UV light).

4. The mouth of the sheath is reinforced with Chicago screws, rather than rivits. Chicago screws are a decorative solid brass nut and bolt intended for high stress applications. Stitching alone would have been adequate. However, "good enough" is never good enough for my customers. My sheaths are intended primarily for military operations. If one of my customers catches a knife handle on the door frame of a Hummer, or on some other obstacle, I don't want the mouth of the sheath to rip.

There is also a drain hole in the bottom for those of you who like to play with knives in the rain.

Each of my sheaths (as well as holsters and mag pouches too) are dipped in a liquid acrylic compound that seals the leather inside and out, right down to the individual stitch holes.

I've made something just shy of a thousand knife sheaths in my career, and I've yet to have one returned for any reason. I intend to keep it that way.

BTW, for those with inquiring minds that want to know, the price for that sheath with the Kydex inserts is $125 (US funds) for a knife in this size range. Without the Kydex, it is made from slightly heavier leather (10 oz) and is $90. Please feel free to email me with any questions about my work. Thanks!
