it's on NGOTV, this guy is going to do 3 months in the Yukon, he showed some of his kit and you can follow it on the internet, at the National geographic website, I think it is www.natgeotv.com

You can follow how he is doing on the internet, seems pretty cool to me!

I'm watching the re-run right now  :D

I'll check that site out as well, they just showed it as the commercials were ending. This show has promise :)

I will agree to disagree. We watched about 20 minutes of the first ep last night, and the guy was living, breathing embodiment of boo hooing. He was outfitted better than an REI store (hammock, rain fly, mosquito net, fishing gear, hunting gear, etc.) on his test run, and was complaining about how tough it was. The area was beautiful and he had a ton of nice gear, which sounds like a heck of a vacation to me. On the SECOND DAY he was talking about how he couldn't think properly and routine tasks were a major chore because of his lack of food. I can't imagine the incessant stream of whining that will spew forth when he is out there for three months with just a knife, pot, and rifle. He is definitely no Les Stroud. We switched it to something else.

Let me know if it gets better. :D

No crying on the first day!

I'm sure it will be an interesting show but the crying and extreme fear of bears was annoying.

I could have lived without the emotional break down, but he seemed to buck up some as the show went on. One observation he made was what a beating his tools were taking, and that was only a couple of days in. Speaks to getting the best gear you can afford, and more importantly, taking good care of it.
