I went out with fellow forumite Acutus on a relaxed squirrel hunt while we were scouting deer sign for an upcoming hunt. We both had .22 rifles for the first hour and then switched to suppressed air rifles because the day was going so well and we wanted to challenge ourselves. Here is the result of our day's bounty, eight squirrels and a rabbit.

were you using open sights on the pellet gun? dennis

No, That airgun has Larue quick detach mounts and I had it set up with an Eotech holo sight. No magnification but it's still more accurate for me than irons. Every squirrel was taken with a head shot. The one on the far right has a warble, thats not a bullet hole. I'm very pleased with my shooting on this outing.

Nice day!!
Stew on the menu
or how you going to eat them
Tails to Mepps?
Dan'l

Nah, tails to bow strings. This is the type of string silencer that I make out of squirrel tail.
I already scraped three of the best hides and have them in plastic bags in the freezer (way to cold to brain tan outside right now).
