I love it how Kevin sorta "walked off" during the quench scene. Flaming swords after the quench make for good camera work, but not metallurgically sound practice.

I would have walked off to go have a shot of burbon to prepare myself in case the blade cracked during the quench. The flaming sword effect did look very cool, and I was assuming that the oil left on the blade ignited from the blade still being hot enough to do so. I can't imaging that this would really affect anything in the metal, except on the surface, which would be ground off when finishing the blade. Would be fascinating to be able to travel back in time to see how the original Ulfberht sword smiths made these.
