so today dtrap, pops, and myself headed over to our good friend dave's house today. we went on a little walk about out in the woods to beat on some serious steel and see what our blades could hold up too. we did a lot of stuff that we shouldn't have with our knives and hawks but hey you need to know what they can take right :) we did a lot of chopping, a lot of throwing, some fire starting and even some BACON eating. we had a ton of busse's, swamp rats, siegles, JK hawks, coal creek forge hawks, ect ect ect. we had to many knives lol. on to the pics as they speak for themselves.

all of the blades.... well most of them anywho

my new coal creek forge hawk. it's a beast but I did happen to break the handle. it's a amazing tool and I should have known better than to throw my toma-axe with this handle, but I'm dumb and did it.

A little superglue and you'll be good to go! :p

fortunately the tree died last year and was rotting lol. that's how I got those big ole chunks of steel to stick in it lol. Esav I wish I could super glue that back together as he told me not to throw with that handle and even sent me a rough hickory handle to use but it needed a lot of sanding and I didn't have time to get to it so used his super custom handle and destroyed it like a asshole. He may be mad at me lol, but I absolutely love his hawks. they can take a beating for sure.

nickortizzle1035, as esav said they are JK hawks and are great great hawks for the money. I absolutely love mine. my brother keeps trying to steal my belt hawk but I haven't come off it yet. they are 1/4 thick hawks and are absolute beasts lol.

what can you tell me about these axes/ tomahawks?

I can tell you that they are MONSTERS. They will take anything you can throw at them, or throw them at, and keep on chopping. I have to have that belt hawk. Sooner or later I will wear you down and you will give in and it will be mine :triumphant:
Here are a few more pics from yesterday

Grunt was warned against throwing it with that handle but we just couldn't resist it. We probably threw it 50-60 times pretty hard before it snapped. At least it stuck when it snapped. It is a sweet head and the new handle is made for throwing it so I'm looking forward to trying it out again.

I think stephen (coal creek forge) is mad at me about this too :( hopefully he doesn't hate me to much and will make me a new one. I'm going to finish up this hickory handle tomorrow. it was a blast and I have horrible luck so I am use to my stuff breaking.

Great Photos

I see 2 Siegles in the mix correct??

you do sir. one is a bush sword and the other we don't actually know the correct name but it's a absolute beast. it's like a machete but 1/4 thick and destroys wood.

and battle creek knives, your exactly right I definitely didn't want to break it but I did want to use it and play with it. stuff happens but at least I was having fun while it happened.

Looks like a fund day out. Impressive hawk collection. I'd be teary eye'd losing that handle!
