Glancing at some knives for another post, I ran into the CRKT S2, which I had previously always overlooked. It's about 60 dollars, has ATS 54 and 6AL4V titanium handles.

What do you guys think?

I have one of those somewhere, not a bad offering from CRKT but pretty small and thin lock bar. I liked their frame lock Mirage better, nicer lines but the same drawbacks.

S2's can be pretty decent but they have been discontinued for many years. At one time they where going for $25 on close out. Make sure you can return it, on some the lock was iffy.

I read that there were lock issues with these. Never had one so I can't really speak from a first-hand point.

That's a good looking knife. How smooth is the locking mechanism?

I had one recently. Locked up tight with no horizontal play. It did have a tad bit verticle play, that concerened me so I spine whacked it and tried to get the lock to fail and it would not. I was very pleased with it.:D

DGG, it was very smooth to open. Like I said no play horizontally. I got mine on Ebay for around $35.Thanks
