Great Video... Himalayn Imports Review by Nutnfacy

yeah that actually brought a ton of new customers in; I think-- thanks for posting for those who have not seen it !

oops... I am new to the forums. Thought I would contribute a bit. I haven't had a chance to review every thread yet lol. I do have to work you know hehehe.

this is great... Berserka is taking "new dude" status from me! Thanks man! Ha.
I was, still am, just as excited as you are berserka,, started my collection in June and I have been learning ever since. That video review hit about my 2nd or 3rd week into my HI interests and pretty much blew up the M43s along with igniting
some new people's interest. There are forum members that have been involved here since the early early days of HI and have been great informational and innovative sources.
Enjoy!

yeah I only showed up here last year in june; but had been regathering my blades for the past 2 !

It is a good video, it's been posted before, but thank you anyways.

:D:thumbup: Thanks guys, I am waiting to receiver my first HI... a WWII model but I am already thinking about my next purchase which will be this Friday. I probably should wait to inspect the first one before ordering another but I think its a safe bet going with any of HI's stuff. I haven't even seen my WWII and I already want another HI, the information and all the responses I have received have just raised my enthusiasm for these kukri's. I was going to purchase a Tora kukri next but I think I want more HI's and avoid the other brands all together.

I had little understanding of kukris when I made my first kukri purchase last month. I ordered a 15in blade Afgan defender model for Ex-Gurkha house and I was less than impressed. The blade was thick and straight but there were horrible, I mean horrendous machine grinding wheel marks. It looks like they used a power grinder on it then tried to polish it before getting the "grinds" out. The handle is the worst part though... The shape is far from ergonomic and the three pins holding it together are just brass tubes filled with molten pot metal. After I purchases it I saw a "bare" blade with the handles off... The wholes are twice the size as the pin holes. The only thing keeping the handle on is the glue, not the through pins on the grip. Very poor design and it is wayyyyyyyyy to heavy. I would use it for sacrificing virgins or bulls but that's about it. Anyone have any virgins around? heheheh joking

I looked around as well before purchasing my first khukuri in july and chose HI cause the quality is the best i've ever seen and it's not just about the knife. It's the great Kamis who make the blade even more special. After recieving my Gelbu I pretty much made up my mind that HI would be the only company I buy blades from (except pocket knives but only because HI doesn't make any. An HI pocket knife, now that's an idea).

You will love HI blades. Each one has its own soul. And as many here can attest to, I'm not just waxing poetical.
Looking forward to hearing how yours matches with you.

Thanks Rose&Thorn,

I absolutely know what you are talking about. I have several mass produced pieces of steel that are just that, pieces of steel. I also own a few hand made items with "souls". It is a funny thing when you pick up something that has been hand made by someone who puts his or her soul into producing their chosen art form. Yes... I consider kami's to be artists as I do with many types of blacksmiths. My art happens to be my firearms, I've put many many hours into one particular 1911. Every single part has had special attention paid to it. I spend two hours just polishing the sear and hammer engagement surfaces mating them to perfection. Hours spent fitting the beavertail to perfection, slide stop, safety, slide to frame fit are also paramount. Everything in that gun has had my "soul" imparted unto it. I will never sell that 1911, it will be passed down to someone who knows, appreciates and "feels" the soul that now exists within its steel.

I am anxiously awaiting my WWII with much anticipation. I am glad I am in the company of quality individuals like yourself who understand how and why we dedicate our time, minds, and yes souls to our passions.

LMFAO Bawanna NOT ON YOUR LIFE muahahah... My son might get it as a legacy hand me down, that is if I ever decide to have children ahahhahaha.

I probably have close to $1800 in parts alone not counting the starter pistol $1350 S&W "E" series stainless steel with melonite coating. I have over 100 hours into it... I usually charge around $50-80 and hour depending on the person/job.

LOL..I think you are a little off with the offer (aware its a joke :D)

I would be happy to build you a 1911... Just let me know lol. Truth be told I could never sell this pistol for all the time I have into it. No one would pay that much and I wouldn't sell it. I could probably duplicate it with a lot of the same attention to detail for around $3500-4000 depending on what u wanted.

Well OK, how about 250?

Oh I'm also available for adoption iffen you decide not to have children. I don't eat much, don't do windows, don't cook, but I'm a lot of fun to play with and have many of my own toys already.

Think about it........
