Kershaw 1070 Ken Onion Echo

This knife is a great little knife and in the woods has served me well for most everything making fuzz sticks, whittling, skinning, field dressing and just all around work.

I kind of think of it along the same lines as the Nessmuks, Moras and other highly regarded knives.

Specs:

Length, Overall: 8.525"
Blade Length: 4.0"
Blade Material: AUS-8A
Handle Length: 4.525"
Handle Material: Black Polyamide
Weight: 4.8 oz

Not trying to sound like an ad for the knife but at 25-30 bucks, its a truly underrated knife.

thay're great knives, especially for the price.... a buddy of mine had one, until someone stole it out of his car.... i was bummed, i had planned to buy it from him....

i like the kershaw storm and storm 2, similar recurves but in folding frame locks. 13c26 blades, finger flipper, smooth action, solid lockup, made in the usa. also about $30.

looks really cool price?

I like mine as well, but the sheath mine came with was a real pos nylon junkheap. I need to get somebody to make me some kydex pants for it.

I cut the belt loop off mine and carry it glued into the front of a BK10 Sheath which in turn carries a Siegle.

Weird man, none of my stuff matches.

Heh! Nothin' wrong with that. You can even *gasp* carry stainless and carbon knives at the same time, if ya want!:p

That Echo looks pretty damn handy... I've never used a recurve, and that looks like a pretty good way to check one out. Thanks for the review  How hard or squishy is the handle?

Handle is not squishy at all.

Mine came with a pretty sturdy leather sheath.

Good knife for the $$.
Lightweight and easy to have on you on tame dayhikes with little possibilty of dramatic events.

Otherwise it's the BK7 outdoors (PNW)for me.

I have another Kershaw knife with a slightly different blade.

The handle will tear up your hands if used much. I offset this by wrapping mine with Cloth camo tape. Now it's just fine.
