For those that have followed some of the more successful internet fictional stories, "Lights Out" by David Crawford (Halffast) is a great read. From a survival stand point, they have to deal with an unexplained EMP crisis where electricity just stops and all the lights go out. If you're looking for a good winter read, I would highly recommend it. As with most internet stories that get published, it probably has its share of grammatical errors, but if you can get past those, it's an enjoyable read. My book is on the way as I haven't read this story for a few years:thumbup:

Yup yup, I have 4 copies. Gifted one to a friend. Recieved my 3 copies here in Iraq 2 days ago. I am taking one on the airplane ride home with me in a few weeks. The other 2 are being read by a few of the soliders I work with, then I will donate to the redtail library for anyone in Balad.

It is an outstanding story. I have seen a few friends prepare just reading this story thru a PDF I gave them of it. Im glad it was finally release in printed form. I made a hack copy that I took to the UAE with me once, did not last long, but a few other managed to read it before it fell apart.

ROCK6,

Thanks for the heads up! Just ordered the book and it will be delivered on Christmas Eve.

Lookin' forward to reading this one.

I read it as a pdf about a year ago. It was my first ereader book.

"One Second After" is similar, if you like "Lights Out."

Good to hear...I remember printing mine up in Iraq from a pdf file (I just can't read off a computer screen). I was hoping Halffast would publish it as it's a great read and much easier to share in book-form.

Stay safe bro,

very cool Rock.. thanks for the heads up.. i didn't know this book was out yet.. i read some of it online a few years back, and it is indeed a good read... especially from a W&SS/prepardness perspective..

Is there still a free legal PDF version or something I can put on my iPod? If so, link please?

Thanks!

A coworker just gave this to me on PDF a few days ago. Hopefully it stands up to the hype.
