I saw this on the Pigeon Forge calendar of events,Dec5-7. Has anyone been to this show? I was wondering if it was worth a 6-8 hour drive. Will there be custom knives, collections & production products for sale? Thanks.

This is a wonderful show held twice a year. Lots of knives and I always end up visiting SMKW which is only a few miles away from the show. It's a great knife day. I probably wouldn't drive 6 or 7 hours to get to it - but then again I wasn't willing to drive the 3 1/2 hours to Atlanta this year. Pigeon Forge has been a hub of knife collecting and activity for many years.

Thanks! I guess NC is knife country, as many BFC knife knuts as we have from there! Sounds like a good show.

(If I lived 3 1/2 hours from Atlanta I would work at Blade :D )

It is mostly a pocket knife show with a mix of a factory knives as well as a few custom makers. One never knows what hidden treasures one might find at show like that.

I could deal with that. One of the regular complaints about our New York shows is that they are overwhelmingly custom knife shows. There is also a big market, especially among young or beginning knife knuts, for good, working, production knives.

I've been to this show several times and it is a slipjoint paradise.
Thousands of old Case knives and other old hard to find slippies. There are a few custom makers, small fixed blades and one or two slipjoint makers. One or two setups with sebenzas, spyderco, benchmade and a few old customs. Some of the dealers have Loveless knives,Lake knives, Scagel knives, but mostly wall to wall slipjoints. If you are not up on slipjoints it would be worth your trip to be surrounded by so much tradition. Also, while you are there you must stop by SMKW. These knives at this show are not cheap. Stag handled case 4 blade congress start at $700 and go up. They have this show twice a year but the Nov. show is usually the biggest.

Thanks for the info. As far as the link, I just searched for Pigeon Forge, TN calendar of events. There was not much info except for dates & a contact number. I will probably be going before then. Someone mentioned SMKW. I have been there before & it is something to see. A few months ago I read they were expanding, I hope their new show room is completed. I will try to go to the above mentioned show sometime. Thanks again.
