The coating is a "Crib Safe" Laquer made by dutch boy and sold exclussively at K-Mart stores as I remember.
I havent bought any but I believe that if you need further info you could try calling John Greco. I met him at the Jansville Knife Show last year and was hoping to talk to him again this year, before my vehicle decided to die on me. Anyway Greco is a man of his word and a very polite and knowledgable maker. I was very impressed with his willingness to help the end user and I have since that date bought one of his knives, a companion, and plan on buying others in the future.
