Greco Friction folders...worth it, or just a hassle?

I was cruising around the CQC knife site, when I happened upon some really cool (at least in concept) friction folders by Greco. Anyone had experience with these, or with friction folders in general? Are there legal things to consider with these (i.e. considered gravity knives, etc.)? It just seems like a good idea for a knife to use for utility that I won't care about if it breaks, and there aren't any issues with length, or with having a locking folder. Am I dreaming, or are these actually viable as user knives? Thanks!

I have one of their fixed blades, and it is a nice piece considering that I paid $50 bucks for it ;)

One of them is currently my EDC. The most-used part of it, anyway.

It is a bombproof, pretty indestructable example of an underdeveloped knife. In theory, you might consider it a gravity knife, since it doesn't have a mechanism (other than friction) that holds it closed, like a conventional lockback or slipjoint does. In practice, I tightened it up so I could carry it safely without a sheath, and while I can still open it with one hand pretty easily, I'm sitting here trying to snap it open and it's just not working.

It's a phenomenal knife, and I'd be saying the same thing if it cost twice as much.

If you have any specific questions, please feel free to e-mail me, or just post here and I'll try to keep up with it.
