Greco

Definitely not what I'd expected, considering the types of knives usually associated with Greco knives these days. Nice piece nonetheless - in the Scagel style. Care to share the specs ? Jason.
 
I'm glad to see that you noticed that this isn't one of John's normally seen pieces Jason. The blade is 6 inches of 8670. Knife being overall 11 1/2". This is what John calls his Scagel style. He hasn't made very many of them. Especailly ones with the crown stag. The mix of stag,leather washers and metal spacers gives it a nice look and feel. The photo I posted didn't do a very good job of showing it. I have a few others that I will get a group shot of and post it here.

A very nice and unusal Greco!
It is very sad that he is no longer in the knife business.
 
Here are a few of his Scagel types. All are flat ground. The larger one has a 7 1/2" blade and is about 14 1/2" overall. Pretty enough to be proud of but not too pretty to use.

That one took me by surprise. Didn't know John made those kind of blades. Nice. :)
