Sitting in Publix parking lot & approached by slick looking mullato. Shored me heavy chain marked 14 K . Only had $22 bucks & he pe ed & moaned but he gave it to me. Wife retorned & she ras broke, paid by check. Greedy me,I asked if Publix would cash a check. She said $75.00 was max. Guy said he'd take it so we complied. One chain was marked $ 889 & the other $845. Done deal. Went t o gold/coin shop. Fake ! Brass & gold plated from Italy !

I'm on the look=out for the thug & if I see him he's a ton of hurt. I'll take his wallet & kneecap him with a .22 short.

No free lunch !

A chagrined Uncle Alan....

Sorry to hear that UA. I used to know a couple of those "salesmen" when I lived in Detroit proper. Learned a lot from them. Usually it boiled down to "If it sounds too good to be true...".

He'd have probably got more than $75 if he had taken them to that gold shop and sold them by weight alone.

The good part is, this lesson was relatively cheap when compared to the cost of higher education today. ;)

Whoa. A thug was selling gold chains marked $889 & the other $845 in a parking lot and only wanted $75 and they turned out to be ... fake? Unbelievable.

Strange how you don't find the most upstanding businessmen in parking lots...

Sell it to Uncle Alan.

I read about stuff like this almost every week in the local paper. The latest is a guy wearing a shirt that says DISH Network has been going door to door selling subscriptions to DISH. He offers a huge discount, but only takes cash or debit card. (Can you see a flashing red warning sign?) One lady wrote that she told him that she already had DISH. He offered to convert her to Direct TV.

A guy just can't go wrong with buying bacon from the trunk of a car in a parking lot...Gold chains, on the other hand...No thanks.:D.

Did he have any Rolexes? I hear "slick looking mullatos" have the best prices on them, especially when being sold on street corners!

Didn't you just finish telling us about your daughter getting scammed? Maybe it runs in the family ;)

Just wear them and impress your friends with what a good deal you got! At least until the plating starts to wear off.

Um, just noticed- your title says "again"???
