Green Beret CRK vs. Strider MTL

There aren't many FB Strider's that do it for me, but I do like the MTL. Ditch the cord wrap for G10 and it should be a great knife.

As for the CRK GB, it's a fantastic knife - great ergos, first rate materials, truly useful serrations, and a quality sheath. It's also a really well balanced, right-sized large fixed blade.

I'd say go with what you are personally more comfortable with, from a performance perspective it's pretty much a toss up.

I have an MTL and have handled the Green beret...here are my thoughts.

The blade on the CRK is a bit longer so for chopping I'd vote CRK, but conversely because Strder uses a bigger choil you can choke up on it more for finer cutting than you can with the CRK...vote- Strider

Both S30V so thats a Tie.

The MTL is a bit lighter which I like.

Sheath goes to Strider, one of the best sheaths i've come across.

Fit and finih are equal in my estimation even though this will and can be debated by people who dislike one company and like another...so, tie.

Price point goes to CRK by 50 bucks...

While I like the cord wrap which most people don't, I like the handles on the CRK, they fit my hand really well. I would love some G-10 on my MTL but as time goes by I've really warmed up to the cord wrap especially in a survival situation when some cord is needed. I'd vote tie based on personal preference.

Both were hair poppping sharp outta the box. tie.

I don't like serrations and I do like a nice sharpened false edge, vote - strider.

as you can see, you really can't go wrong with either knife. Both will serve you very well and will take all the abuse you can throw at them. In the end it just might come down to looks and feel when you get a chance to hold them.
