went by my local knive dealer today and took a close look at the Green Beret. it looked better than the pictures and felt real nice. so what the heck, i had to bring it home and test it out against my other blades!
very nice workmanship, check it out:cool: :D

Just what I need for trimming back the brambles in the hedge in front of our house ;)

the sheath is nice but this knife just begs for a nice quality leather sheath. one a little more compact and that rides a little higher. say, more of a woodsman type sheath option instead of combat style.

what is your opinion on that?

We are back ordered about 6 or 8 weeks on the Green Beret Knife but over the past couple of weeks we have been shipping them. Response has been fantastic!

Are the grips now black on the final version, the green appealed to me more as a personal preference.

my grips are more of a grey in color, my guess is they will darken to black with use and oil. soap and water will clean micarta back to new.

The grips are now being made from black micarta which, as mentioned looks grey initially. The OD green would darken significantly with use and so the black is more practical in the long run. Somewhere in the future, we are going to be making custom versions of this model and different handle materials become an option. I can't give you any more information than this right now because no decision have been made!

Mine came to the house last week but I was out so didn't get to "handle" it until Friday!

This is a true combat knife. It retains it's blade thickness to very near the tip. It would be great for prying. It has the familiar blade shape of the Project I. The handle is very comfortable with a palm swell and butt curve to enhance security. The rough finished grey micarta provides lots of traction in the hand. The lanyard hole is large enough to put two thicknesses of parachute cord through. I like the functionality of the Eagle sheath.

I was going to have a custom knife made in case I was recalled from retirement back to active duty, but this knife is all I would have had made, and then some. Great Job, CRK!

I want one with no serrations and no top guard. What an awesome field knife that would be.

I like it too, but.......but except for a different steel its a Project 1 from the handle forward. Great knife though. Almost a variant of the Project 1 & 2
