Green beret for skinning

I know that there are much better skinning knives out there, but has anyone used the green beret for skinning? I was looking at the GB for a multifunction field knife. I have plenty of skinners, but if the SHF I want a knife that do a bit more survival. More for fun, but I enjoy practicing this kind of stuff.

Based on skinning (field dressing actually) a Whitetail deer with a TOPS Pathfinder School Knife, which is similar in size to a 5'5" Green Beret, I'd say you can do it, it's overkill for the task, but as a "jack of all trades" knife, it'll get it done! :)

The Green Beret cuts meat very well, it's hollow ground with a convex cutting edge. Even the 5.5" Green Beret is bigger than necessary for field dressing, the Nyala would work way better, but the 5.5" version is quite manageable especially if you take advantage of the unsharpened section at the base of the blade as a finger choil. It's amazing how the incorporated double handguard doesn't get in the way, it really is a brilliantly designed knife.

The Green Beret is a very good "general purpose" knife designed and built by those who know what they're doing.
