Green Beret handles/scales

When did they go and change the scales on the 7" GB???

Bought mine a while ago, so quite a surprise.

Secondly, are the older model scales interchangeable with the new? Or have there been changes to grip profile, fasteners, etc.?

I believe it was about 3 years ago they changed...or that was when I noticed it. They are interchangeable as far as I know...assumming you have CRK do the swapping. The 3M tape that holds them on is pretty firm in its grip. I have washed mine in the hot tank at work and the grips are still as tight as the day I received the knife. (yes I removed the harware to clean it :p )
