Green Beret or Pacific?

I have 2 NIB CRK's, a 7" Green Beret and a Pacific. I can only keep one, mainly meant for light/medium duty camping/hunting/fishing, no major bushcraft. I also have a Gerber LHR, similar in shape to the Green Beret, but as you all know, made out of lesser quality steel. So, if you had a choice over the GB or the Pacific, which one would you choose and why? TIA.

I prefer the overall look and spear point of the GB and if neither had serrations I'd probably pick that one.
That said, I don't like to use too big of a knife when hunting, since the Pacific has a shorter blade, more belly for skinning/field dressing , and better serrations ( imho ) it'd be the one I pick.

Your opinion will obviously be different for different reasons but I hope that I at least gave you something to think about.

You can't really go wrong either way, but, have you considered selling both and getting a nyala?
They're GREAT camp/hike/hunt knives - so good that I have 3😄

Good luck.

I would opt for the Pacific myself. I like the length. But more than that, I find the thumb ramp of the Pacific more ergonomic for various grips personally. I've always felt like the GB was a combat knife that can do other stuff, whereas the Pacific was an all-purpose knife partly optimized for fighting (if that makes sense). I just feel like the the GB would be a little less pleasant for me to use for most of the things I would use it for.

Also, I feel like the serrations on the Pacific would be easier to sharpen because of the way they alternate.

That's just my two cents. I don't own either myself, though I do own some other Harsey designed knives. I think either one is a fantastic knife. If one of them just seems to sing to you more than the other, I'd go with that.

I have a 5.5 GB and a Pacific.

Hands down, I'd keep the Pacific any day and any time.

For what I can appreciate, it is a far more refined and better designed piece. There are so many little details on that knife.

I dont have a 7" GB, but I guess the balance must be spot on. However in the 5.5 the handle has most of the weight, and it feels like it is actually heavier than it is. Conversely, the Pacific is so excellently balanced it feels lively and lighter in the hand.

Also, the Pacific's serrations are better, in that they are less obtrusive. You can featherstick with them and use them as a regular edge for the most part. It also has a better size, is way more comfortable and versatile, and the tip is more acute. It stabs jolly good and better than the GB, that has a more obtuse geometry.

In summary, a no brainer. The Pacific is not only superior to the GB, it is easily one of the top 15 "military" knives ever made, and that's saying much. So good it is my go-to knife and arguably better than any other one I know.

The only thing better in the GB is the sheath. I swapped that hideous ACUPAT sheath for the green GB one, that by the way, also comes with paracord.

Hoped this helped.
