Green Beret? Real world military use?

I'm not looking for tales of bloody combat knife fights, which I would imagine are extremely rare events, but am interested if any serviceman or servicewoman visiting this forum has carried a CRK Green Beret as part of their kit. If so, how did it serve in it's intended function as a soldier's knife? Was it a good part of your kit, or more a ceremonial item?

I know it's a long shot asking here, but have always wondered if the graduates gifted the Yarboroughs, actually put them to use, or if other service-people buy the GB version as their knife of choice while on duty.

There are plenty of threads about using the GB as a bush knife, or camping tool, so please only answer here if you actually have the opinions I am curious about. Thank you.

Not enlisted, but have been doing some research on CRK fixed blades recently.

Most anecdotes I've come across suggest that knives such as the green beret are left at home during deployment. The chance of theft or loss is too great; instead, cheaper, but well established brands such as Ka-bar are used. To lose that would hurt much less than a CRK.

I carried one in 2003-2004 while with Dco 3/327 INF Fort Campbell, KY Serviced me great. Just recently bought the plan edged version.

Two of my largest supported units are both army and Navy SOF and their support personnel and I rarely see a fixed blade in their gear but that could change when they head down range.
